International Week FHS

Feel welcome!

Dear partner,

We warmly invite you and your colleagues to participate in our 8th International Week, organised by the Faculty of Health and Social Studies of HAN University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands. This week will be held from 4 to 6 February 2020 at the HAN campus in Nijmegen. The aim of the International Week is sharing experiences, practices and knowledge between students and lecturers in the international context of Health and Social Work.

The general theme is Challenge your borders. Health and Social Work in international perspective.

The International Week provides students and lecturers with the opportunity to meet international colleagues and discuss the latest developments in the field and in education. The programme will be interesting and diverse. Guest lecturers from the Netherlands and abroad will give introductory lectures and interviews and work alongside students in workshops. We hope this varied programme will inspire all those involved!

Topics for workshops and presentations may include, but are not limited to:

  • Healthy communities
  • Interprofessional collaboration
  • Globalisation, migration and refugees
  • Intercultural communication
  • Community development
  • Public health

The Programme

The main target group of International Week are our second year students of the Bachelor programme courses of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies. The programme includes a wide range of educational activities such as panel presentations, seminars, round table sessions and (creative) workshops. A special one day-programme will be organised for (visiting) lecturers and master students.
